                                        Create a table of contents based on categories

A table of contents is ideal to add to your web site to make it easier for visitors to access if your site is quite large and has many pages. If you want to add a table of contents page based on categories do the following:
1. Assign each page that you want to appear in your table of contents or site map to a category. To do this, in the Folder List, right-click the page that you want to assign to a category, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu.
2. Click the Workgroup tab.
3. In the Available Categories list, click the category that you want to assign the page to.
4. If you want to create a new category, click Categories, type the name of the new category, click Add, and then click OK.
5. To assign a page to more than one category, repeat these steps for each category.
6. In Page view, place the insertion point where you want to add the first category of pages in the table of contents or site map, type a heading, and then press ENTER.
7. On the Insert menu, click Web Component.
8. In the Component type list, click Table of Contents.
9. In the Choose a table of contents list, click Based on Page Category, and then click Finish.
10. In the 'Choose categories to list files by' box, select the check box next to each page category that you want to include in your table of contents or site map.
11. In the 'Sort files by' box, do one of the following:
12. To sort the list alphabetically, select Document title.
13. To sort the list by file dates, select Date last modified.
14. Under 'Include the following information', do one or more of the following:
15. To include the file modification date, select the 'Date the file was last modified' check box.
16. To include comments that have been added to each page in the list, select the 'Comments added to the file' check box.
17. Repeat these steps for each additional page category that you want to include in your table of contents or site map.
18. To view the text on the links, on the File menu, point to Preview in Browser, and then click the Web browser that you want.
