       How to return the number of rows in a cell reference or range using formulas in Excel

     This Mhelp clip will show you how to use the ROWS formula in Excel. This is useful if you want to   find the number of rows when working with a cell reference.

                                               This Mhelp clip has ten steps.
                                                 1 - Click cell A3.
                                                 2 - Type the number to work with.
                                                 3 - Click the cell where you want to display the answer.
                                                 4 - Click the Formulas tab.
                                                 5 - Click Lookup & Reference. A menu will appear.
                                                 6 - Click ROWS. A dialog box will appear.
                                                 7 - Click the Array button.
                                                 8 - Click cell A3.
                                                 9 - Click the formula button.
                                               10 - Click OK. The answer will be displayed in the cell selected.
