How to return the last or right most character in a text string using formulas
This Mhelp clip will show you how to use the RIGHT formula in Excel. This is useful if you want to display characters in a string.
This Mhelp clip has fifteen steps.
1 - Click cell A3.
2 - Type in the text you want to use.
3 - Click cell B3.
4 - Type in the number of characters you want to display.
5 - Click the cell where you want to display the answer.
6 - Click the Formulas tab.
7 - Click Text. A menu will appear.
8 - Click RIGHT. A dialog box will appear.
9 - Click the Text button.
10 - Click cell A3.
11 - Click the formula button.
12 - Click the Num_chars button.
13 - Click cell B3.
14 - Click the formula button.
15 - Click OK. The answer will be displayed in the cell selected.
