How to return the cell value which is an offset from a given cell reference using formulas in Excel
This Mhelp clip will show you how to use the OFFSET formula in Excel. This is useful if you want to find a value which is an offset from a cell reference
This Mhelp clip has twenty steps.
1 - Click cell A3.
2 - Type the first value to use.
3 - Click cell B3.
4 - Type the second value to use.
5 - Click cell A4.
6 - Type the third value to use.
7 - Click cell B4.
8 - Type the fourth value to use.
9 - Click the cell where you want to display the answer.
10 - Click the Formulas tab.
11 - Click Lookup & Reference. A menu will appear.
12 - Click OFFSET. A dialog box will appear.
13 - Click the Reference button.
14 - Click cell A3.
15 - Click the formula button.
16 - Click the Rows text box.
17 - Type the number of rows to use.
18 - Click the Cols text box.
19 - Type the number of columns to use.
20 - Click OK. The answer will be displayed in the cell selected.
